J-bear and I hit the franklin to see an I-max under the sea movie... and to view the STAR TREK exhibit... scroll on down to see HOW DEEPLY i can implant my FOOT in my MOUTH at a geek fest exhibit!
So there we are towards the great egress of the exhibit, where they have a bunch of heads in plexiglass boxes. I hear a robotic voice, glance over my shoulder, and excitedly -and LOUDLY- exclaim to Jerry that the Borg robot head in the box is talking. The child, who is dissapointed about the lack of interactives in this exhibit, runs over eager... to check it out. "mommy, I dont see the talking robot head". The robot has stopped talking... and there I am MUTTERING to myself about the lack of interactives and how I cant find the dang blasted button that makes the borg head talk, when I look up at the man next to me... and WHAT DO I SEE?...
The man has one of those emphazima (sp?) throat talkie machines... YEAH... Ill be tasting shoe leather for about five years. (I think this one tops Vicki's crowning 'foot in mouth' moment... which has been the top bar in my life examples previous to that moment.) FORTUNATLY the man seemed to have a good sense of humor about it.
MEANWHILE... if YOU go to the exhibit, dont wear any GREEN, cause if you do, the green screen photos dont work out so well. AND do bring the extra cash for the 3-d flicker pic of you in the transporter...
