A little too mundane, but on the other hand if you choose the right chemicals it will be a lasting reminder to the school that your class was there. Whatever else you put, be sure to sign it with your year.
I like the Photoshop idea though, too. That would get them where they live without being illegal or dangerous.
And on every prank thread, someone brings up the idea of freezing some shaving cream, cutting the can open, and leaving the oblong of concentrated cream somewhere to melt into a surprisingly large mass of cream. But no one has ever done it, as far as I know. I would love to see it tried. Buy 100 of these. Deep freeze them. Put them in the administration offices/building the night before and everyone will be wading in the stuff the day. Actually, if you get enough, who knows how high it could go. Especially if you provide a heat source to make sure they fully melt--like cranking up the thermostat.
