"I looked for you, now you have come to me, and for this I thank you"- JPII
This is one of the last things that John Paul II said before he died. It means so much to me because he was refering to the youth that had come to cheer him on in St. Peter's during his last hours. Of course there were hundreds of other people there, but the youth were endlessly there and we were some of the treasured ones on his mind in his last hours. I unfortunately was not able to be there, but as soon as I heard that my pope had died I rushed down to St. Peter's. It was one of the saddest days that I have ever had. We were only able to stay for awhile because we had class the next day, but we had a good 2 hours in St. Pete's to payour respects. I miss him so much still!
Karen sent me a prayer for the soul of Pope John Paul:
VATICAN CITY, JUNE 23, 2005 (
Zenit.org ).- The Diocese of Rome published the written prayer to implore favors through the intercession of the late Pope John Paul II.
O Blessed Trinity,
We thank you for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II
and for allowing the tenderness of your Fatherly care,
the glory of the cross of Christ,
and the splendor of the Holy Spirit, to shine through him.
Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy
and in the maternal intercession of Mary,
he has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd,
and has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life and is
the way of achieving eternal communion with you.
Grant us, by his intercession, and according to Your will,
the graces we implore,
hoping that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen.
John Paul II....pray for us!!!
