a long time coming

I haven't written in hear in over a year now. And I truly didn't expect to ever write in here again, but I find myself drawn back, the urge to write stirring up inside me again. So an update, although I'm not really sure who this is for. Possibly my future self? Anyhow, I started back to school this fall and am pursuing a degree in business administration. I chose this degree almost entirely for logical reasons, since business is one of the few "safe" degrees to get anymore. That and degrees relating to the medical field. I think we all know how likely it is that I would every end up in the medical field, given my weak stomach and emotional nature.

Anyhow, I looked over the classes, discovered that I'm already half way to an associate degree and off I went. Did I ever consider that I might find my place in this field? That I would find myself drawn to it and enamoured by its concepts? No... but here I am. I'm reading my marketing textbook for assignments and finding myself eager to learn more and more. I'm reading my business management textbook for my other class and feeling inspired by the call to action for a new class of motivating and imaginative management personnel. I think I may have actually found the degree I was truly meant to get. And the best part is, I can take most of it online. It won't interfere with my work schedule. I can still go out of town with Justin whenever he feels the call to get away. I can take my laptop along and still get my schoolwork all done.

Let's see... what else. Oh yes, I started my own small business. I'm designing and making jewelry and have my own Etsy shop. I've just been asked to a make a few pieces for a charity auction at a friend's school in florida. I've made a few sales so far, but I am still working on developing my business and brand. I still need to build up some more inventory, and I'm still working on my photography skills for the site.

We also have two puppies whom we adopted in Decemeber of '09. They're both girls and twin siblings, named Braylon and Desmond. Of course, they are named after former michigan football players (Braylon Edwards and Desmond Howard). Right now they are about 10 months old and a total handful. There are days when we truly feel that we are in over our heads.

I can't think of anything else in particular to speak of at this point, so I'll call it an evening.
