First of all, since I have not updated since before the final, I must say, Viva l'Azzurri! What a tense match that was! Both France and Italy played very well, and in spite of tauntings and head-butts, it was a great game to watch. But Italy winning on Sunday was a fitting final chapter in my Italian saga this year. Ok, enough about football. For a good long while.
So anyway, I'm sick. Over the past three days, I've had a sore throat, body aches, headaches, fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes, runny nose, and cough. When one symptom goes away, another one seems to pop up to take its place. My dad thinks I just have a weird flu. I hope that's all it is. I seem to be getting better, but my runny nose, swollen lymph nodes, and cough are still very much present. Having a nine-hour class five days a week doesn't help, either.
Speaking of which, yesterday morning I had to schlep a 50 kilo movie lighting kit 10+ blocks from my dorm to the studio where we were shooting, and all while having a high fever and aching all over. Not fun. But overall, my class is going well. My film ideas have not been quite as good as I'd hoped, but at least I'm on schedule with my shoots and screenings. I screen my second film today. I think people will either love it or hate it. I happen to love it, if only because I ended up with a charming little film after shooting it without even so much as a story and making up the plot as we went along (something I hope never to have to do again).
Oh yes, and Happy Bastille Day. Vive la France!
