Etrian Attorney
-------------------------------------

In the depths of the dark murky bushes of the Primitive Jungle, the named second stratum of the Etrian Yggdrassil Labyrinth... There were two explorers, one was tired, and in need of some rest. It was unfortunately dark, in the wicking hours of nighttime, so you can't see who they look like.

"Ay, This be the spot."

"Are you kidding me?! This spot is thorny! We'll be screeching in pain here! That'll bring the monsters over to us!"

"Ay, not to sleep my dear boy."

You could however tell that the older, more gruff voice was leading a younger, more critical and less naive male over to a spot to do some grinding for a while.

A sudden growl then alerted these explorers something was close.

"Is that what I think I heard?", the boy squealed.

Suddenly, what was revealed to the two explorers was a towering figure, not human, but still threatening and dangerous. Its pitch black eyes looked down upon them. Because the moonlight was only scattered across the stratum barely due to it not being the first stratum in general, and that the solar energy the Yggdrassil tree was barely enough to reveal other features of the creature, it took the older figure time to figure out what was coming up into the distance.

He almost didn't see it, but that growl became louder now, and that's when he confirmed it.

"Oh God you're right! It's the Minotaur!!"

He readied his gun.

"God damn it boy, get at it!"

The boy gulped as he was shooting a dagger through the Minotaur's dark-haired, grey skinned chest.

It didn't hurt the Minotaur though, as it in fact went in to charge out faster.

"Where are the others?!"

"That's beside the point! They'll get here when they'll get here!"

"Are you insane?! We can't take him down as it is just the two of us!"

"We'll see about that, boy!"

The old man finally fired, and the Minotaur seemed damaged by it.

"Heh. One bullet and we've killed that beast for sure!"

But the Minotaur only slowed down, coming closer to them.

"Oh, perfect; It got up again!!"

And soon the Minotaur came closer to them, quickly beginning to pummel the both of them. The two human males were quick to resist.

"We'll get him boy! You'll see!"

There were sounds of hooves stomping on bare flesh, gunfire, and slicing from the scene of the battle, but unfortunately, due to the songs of the birds in the jungle, the bellows of the bears, and the crunching of leaves and branches on the ground, it was hard for their comrades to hear.

Their three companions were using a fire to guide them through the somewhat humid forest.

There was Grossberg, a very overweight Protector with mustard colored hair, a plump rounded mustache, and glasses. He was holding a torch, and his armor was of a Gold color, with sanguine lining and decorations and a bright yellow binding to help keep him from losing it.

Mia, a buxom brunette Hexer who wore a black skirt and corset underneath her sacred hexing robes of a light purple color, was following after him. Her calling bell bound to her chest next to a magatama of a phtalo green color. But unlike most Hexers, her string attaching those items and the golden broach together, wasn't red or purple but jet black.

Finally, at the end of the line was a tanned, dark haired Alchemist in his usual Alchemist attire, his goatee clad chin downward as he was looking straight ahead. He was also severely injured, after all, someone poisoned him. His wily hair almost made him look like the beasts in this labyrinth. He kept on coughing up blood. Grossberg kept on healing him, but soon he'll run out of energy to do it, and eventually, this Alchemist will die. His name is Diego, and he would occasionally, try to tug on Mia's shoulder coughing for them to stop, as he was trying to catch his breath.

"Gregory!! GREGORY?! Oh my God... GREGORY!!", Grossberg yelled.

The fire crackling into his ear couldn't have made him hear anyone.

"Hey...", Mia then muttered, as she pointed towards some bushes rustling in the distance.

"No... Gregory and Yanni Yogi wouldn't...", Grossberg gasped.

Gregory then began to ran, revealing despite his body type, he was surprisingly fit. It could be because of his exploring though. Mia tried to follow, but Diego collapsed onto the ground. She had to follow Grossberg, but at the same time, she had to do something for her comrade.

She decided to grab his arm and make it wrap around her shoulder.

"Thanks, doll...", Diego coughed.

"Don't speak...", Mia said, her eyes about to tear up.

She slowly caught up with Grossberg who stopped to see the gruesome mess that was what were Yanni Yogi and Gregory's bodies.

They were breathing their last breaths.

Grossberg's dropped to his knees, shedding tears as his two friends died. He sobbed, those loud cries echoing throughout the Labyrinth.

Mia could only place her hand over his shoulder. She wanted them to go and heal Diego up before he kept on dying. She took out a Warp Wire, a glowing pink string escalating upward into the surface, as Diego held onto it with the last of his strength and went up first.

"We have to go, Grossberg.", Mia declared as Grossberg tried to pick up their corpses as glasses plopped down onto the ground. Grossberg knew Gregory didn't need them anymore so failed to pick them up.

As they rose up, you can hear the roars of the Minotaur, the one who sent them there in the first place.

-------------------------------------

About fifteen years have passed. Not one person delved deeper than where the Minotaur lurks. A memorial sits for where the Guild of Libra, the five explorers, would be remembered for their efforts. Diego died of the poison. Mia survived heartbreak, but was murdered and mugged by a power-hungry fiend who has been sentenced to a life enslaved to work for the Radha Hall, in hopes to put him through submission. Grossberg is the only one to have survived.

However, he was so bent out of shape that he lost his team, he refused to go exploring again.

Enter young aspiring lawyer named Phoenix Wright, and Mia's sister, not so buxom, but still gorgeous, Maya Fey.

"Phoenix I'm hungry!!", Maya whined.

"Etria has to have a judicial system we could join. After all, before everyone of the Guild Libra were explorers, they were lawyers defending the innocent!", Phoenix chimed.

"Stop jesting me, Nick... Where's the food?", Maya moaned.

"Hey. Want to stop by your sister's memorial to give us a blessing for a good case?"

Maya stopped complaining as her sister was mentioned. She stopped, looked down a little depressed, grimacing somewhat, before she could answer.

"Sure, why not?"

-------------------------------------------------

They visited the memorial, a jade colored Eastern looking building with a darker shade of blue-green painted within it. There were four statues representing the four deceased faces. But they weren't alone.

There, the Guildmaster of another guild, presumably of the Armoroad variety, a Shinobi-Monk who looked like neither was talking to five other people on the quest to solve Etria's mysteries.

This was where Phoenix's troubles begin.
