Cameron & Iz cameronpreston June 7 2009, 02:20:15 UTC
Cameron watched Aiden and Pat on the dancefloor, doing about as far as could be constituted 'dancing' before turning into 'fucking'. Cameron was jealous, to say the least, and he scrunched his nose up as he shifted his casted leg under the table of the booth and took a swig from his beer. This seat was going to have a dent the shape of his arse on it by the time the night was over. It wasn't that he wasn't having a good time, because he really was, but he was jealous of the dancing and of the fact Pat was clearly going to get royally fucked that night. He was going to have sleep with his iPod in.

Izzy hadn't had an excuse to get dressed up in ages. She'd almost forgotten that she could actually be pretty damn sexy when she had a chance. Even if she did say so herself. She wore a top that made the most of her cleavage, the dark red satin playing up her ivory skin tone as well. Her dark hair was down and framed her face, and her heels clicked as she moved towards Cameron, her black pants hugging her hips snugly. She leaned down to wrap her arms around his shoulders as she stood behind his chair and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"You keep frowning like that, and your face might get stuck that way. Which, you know, as a lady who likes to see her guy come... not really loving the idea of an angry orgasm face."

Cameron looked up at her with a laugh. "Fuck, am I really that obvious? I thought I was having a subtle sulk. I knew it was bad when Lachlan offered to give me a lap dance," he laughed. "So, what do you think? Is the bunch making you want to run screaming into the night?"

"He did, huh? Now there's something I wouldn't mind seeing." Iz circled around him so she could look at him properly as she perched in the chair next to him. She kept her arm around his shoulders and caught his lips in a soft kiss. "I am an FBI agent, you know. And my best friend is James Campbell. He's a champion sulker, so I can spot it a mile off in anyone now. Subtle, or not. I'm sorry if this party isn't as fun as you thought it would be... And nope, I'm not going to run screaming into the night. I'm actually really enjoying meeting them all... That's a good thing, right? Sure you don't want to limp screaming into the night now I've been introduced properly as your 'friend'?"

"I am having fun. I am. I'm just not used to this whole cripple thing. And I'm sitting here wondering why the fuck I ever got a chip on my shoulder about Pat getting married because look at them." Cameron waved his hand in Pat and Aiden's direction. "How is that not meant to be? I love seeing it, I just know I'm also going to be hearing it tonight," he added with an amused snort.

He smiled back at her. "No way. This is my family here. I'm glad you're finally getting to meet them. I can't promise things won't get more questionable as the night goes on. Guaranteed to see Lachlan dirty dancing with his wife before they disappear to the back room. Riley will probably do the same with his wife. Josh may hump inanimate objects, and there will be a microphone war. I was looking forward to meeting your BFF, but now remember she is on the other side of the world."

"Really? Because you wear cripple like a pro," Iz grinned. "I especially enjoyed that little move you came up with the other day. Very hot. You got a chip because you were shocked, and said it yourself - you just wanted to see him get married for yourself. However, letting it go in favour of seeing your brother happy is a serious plus. They're definitely meant to be... it's amazing to watch." Izzy wet her lips before she looked back at Cameron. "You could stay at mine for the night..."

"Well, once you get your leg back we'll give them some dirty dancing of our own. It's actually good being around all these married couples and knowing that the passion doesn't end with the vows. It's also good to know that people can be made for each other. Gives a girl hope, you know? I really like your family, Cameron. They're fun." Iz nodded. "Yeah, she is. You'll meet her when she's back, don't worry about that. She's been badgering me to meet you since I told her about you. Just before you were in England."

Cameron laughed. "That move was a mix of frustration, desperation and horniness. Adrenaline can be a thing of beauty. And next weekend Lachlan has arranged for a reception, renewing vows thing for Pat and Aiden, which they don't know about. So I will get to see it. You should come along to that, too, though it is fancy dress." He raised his eyebrows a little. "Are you sure? I don't want to be a pain in the butt."

He shook his head. "God no, it really doesn't. Not with this bunch. Not just vows, either. Kids too. Tara and Lachlan have a five month old, there other friends back in Princeton have a newborn too and they still go at it all the time. They couldn't be here, though. Poor bloke has cancer and is battling chemo. Then Riley and Evie, they just found out they're expecting, though it was an IVF thing." He laughed, sipping his drink. "Am I going to have to go through some sort of initiation with your BFF? I know Pat was nervous when he had to meet Harri that time."

"It really, really can," Izzy smirked as she rubbed her fingers against his shoulder. "A meeting of the group followed by a wedding date? Cameron, you do realise what this means, don't you?" She stuck her tongue out at him as she smiled. "I can do fancy dress. What kind of fancy dress? And you're only the best kind of pain in the butt, so yes, I'm sure. I wouldn't offer otherwise."

"Cancer? Shit... That's awful. Kids, marriage... it really is a massive family, isn't it? I like it, though. Makes me realise not everyone's my bitch sister." Iz tucked some of her hair behind her ear as she shook her head. "No, no... I don't think so. She might just quiz you about all kinds of things to try and see if you're worthy."

Cameron smirked. "No, I don't know what it means, you'll have to spell it out for me." He stuck his tongue out back at her. "Seventies, disco, etc. Lachlan just having a joke because he knows we all give Pat shit for loving it. It's going to be far from formal, but it will be a lot of fun. Well, okay then. If I'm not going to get sleep, I may as well not get sleep the good way."

He nodded. "It is, but that's what our group is all about. Working through the shit and knowing you're not alone. I wouldn't swap them for anything." He looked at her and laughed. "Well, that makes me feel better. Let's try and make it that she doesn't show up when we're shagging. I caught Pat and Aiden at it in Mexico and Aiden looked like he was going to have a stroke."

Iz smiled as she pushed her hand up under his shirt and gave his stomach a rub. "Means this is serious. Not only have we done the hospital thing, we've also done the deep and meaningful chats, there's even been some angst, and now we have this party, and the wedding date. If you're not careful, I might have to start calling you my boyfriend. Ooh, seventies... I should be able to come up with something for that. I'd love to come if you really want me to." She grinned as she kissed his temple. "Mm... might as well."

"Deal. I bet you really enjoyed copping an eyeful of that... Poor Aiden. I don't think Ali would particularly care, and I know I wouldn't. Knowing her she'd just introduce herself and try and have a conversation anyway."

Cameron raised an eyebrow, still smirking. "Oh really. That's a pretty strong label there. Sure you can handle it?" he asked. "Of course I want you to come. Even if it means two dates without dancing. You're going to want to sack me."

"I think it was kind of post-coital. Picture Aiden looking all shagged and ruffled, then Pat appearing behind him wrapped in a sheet. Aiden nearly pissed his boxers. It wa definitely amusing. Feels like ages ago, though. Should I be scared about the two of you together?" he laughed.

Iz shrugged and tried to look like she wasn't particularly phased. "Yeah, really. I think I can handle anything you got, Preston. Are you ready to start using the G-word where I'm concerned? Because that's some pretty huge shit for you." Izzy ran her fingers through his hair. "No sacking yet. I'm okay without the dancing for now. I'm okay just taking this time to focus on the getting to know you stuff, and the cripple sex. Dancing can come later."

"Oh!" Iz had to laugh at the image in her head. "At least it was memorable. I guess a lot's happened since then. You probably should, yeah. Still want to meet her?"

Cameron's tongue darted out to wet his lips and he laughed softly. "I'll be honest with you, it's never been the label I've had the issue with. It's what comes after that, but you know, this time, I don't have the same factors in play. It's just the distance thing, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I'm going to be here a few months at least."

"Poor Aiden thought I was there to belt the shit out of him. I just wanted to know that the guy wasn't taking Pat for a ride. Well, not the bad kind, anyway. Pat's really had some shit in his romantic life. He's been cheating on, and even smacked around once. I wasn't going to let that happen again." He smirked and nodded. "Of course I do. No way this is going to work if she hates me, is there? I need to just hope she thinks I'm okay."

Iz moved to straddle Cameron, careful to keep herself well out of the way of the cast. She wrapped her arms around him, and captured his mouth in a deep kiss as she fought back a huge grin. As they broke apart, the grin appeared and she winked at him. "Yeah, we'll definitely cross that bridge when it comes. Meantime, I got every intention of taking advantage of the fact that I have you here. So... we're official?"

"I can picture this so perfectly in my mind... I feel sorry for Aiden. I bet the idea of meeting you had him scared." Izzy frowned. "Pat got smacked around? Did you kill the guy? She'll think you're more than okay, I'm sure of it. There's nothing about you she won't like."

She blocked Cameron's view of his brother, but in doing so, caught his attention 100% with the kiss and Pat was left to Aiden without an audience. It was the twin thing, he couldn't help it. But this wasn't something he had any intentions of protesting. His hands rested on her hips as he looked up at her with a smile. "Wow, you make it sound so final, Owens," he joked. "You're lucky I'm not a committment-phone. Maybe just have a minor allergy to it. But yeah, I guess it means we're official ( ... )

"You're the one taking me to a wedding thing, Preston," Izzy said with a grin. "It's not final... but for now I really don't have any yearning to let this thing go. I'll ride this out with you for as long as it takes. And I'm very lucky you're not a commitment-phobe. It'll come in handy when you need to grab me by the veil and pull me back down the aisle. You know, if it does get that final. I don't want to ever run away on you... and I hope I don't. I don't really feel like there's anything to make me. There's no underlying sense of unease, or questioning things with you. That's got to be a good sign ( ... )
