Luke had understandably been distracted when he picked Tab up from the hospital for their trip to New York after hearing his cousin had been hurt. He spent the whole first half hour drumming restlessly on the steering wheel everytime they stopped at a light as if he was wishing the car would just hurry the fuck up and get there. But they were both hungry and it was close to dinner time. They had to stop to eat something or they might not get a decent meal once they reached the hospital in New York.
Not that McDonalds was 'decent' but at least it didn't look questionably like a snot sandwich that Luke had gotten last time they were visiting that hospital. "How's Riley doing?" he finally asked as he picked up his chocolate shake for a sip. "Both of them, really. Tara, Lachlan? Pat? They're all okay?"
