Title: Light and Shade
Author: Nicola
Genre: Supernatural, Tragedy
Original Run: Dec. 20, 2007

A couple of weeks later, the SOF were sent on an S-rank mission for the total annihilation of an organization named Tendi, who had been a threat to the country for years. Izayoi and Helen were in this mission too. Unfortunately, during their fight with the members of Tendi, Izayoi was put under a curse in which she lost her vision.

After they got back to the Country of Light, Izayoi was immediately put under medical attention, but not even the most powerful Healing-Arts Magician could find a way to break her curse. This event dragged her into depression and led her to a mental break down.

When she could not see, she could not tell if the people around her were being true or not, so she isolated herself from everyone else in order to stay secure, everyone but Helen, her best friend, and Kahiro, her most trusted subordinator. They had been by her side all along for years, giving her their support, and above all: love and friendship; however, even they could not bring her out of her depression.

Roland, who attempted to recruit Helen a few weeks before, came to the Country of Light again. Only this time, he came for Izayoi.

“You should come with me, to the Country of Shade.
Stay here and you will only suffer more.”

He played mind games with her, making her feel that there is no one in the world who cares about her and that she has been all alone from the very beginning. Roland continue to say that he made a mistake for asking Helen to join them, and that she will never understands what loneliness means. Also, he stated that if she goes to the Country of Shade, they would be able to break the curse that was put on her and she will regain her vision. Since she really wanted to see the lights again, she agreed.

She disappeared from the Country of Light without a trace and nobody has seen her ever since that night.
