Matsushita Nao & Arashi as Hosts for this year’s Kohaku Uta Gassen!
it was announced that Matsushita Nao and Arashi will be the hosts for NHK’s annual music show on New Year’s Eve
"Kohaku Uta Gassen" (Kohaku)!
"Kohaku" started broadcasting back in 1951,
the program divides the most popular music artists of the year into competing teams of red and white
the red team (akagumi), is composed of all female artists (and groups with female lead vocals),
while the white team (shirogumi), is all male (and groups with male lead vocals)
Matsushita will be leading akagumi, while Arashi members will be leading shirogumi,
and they will also be the first group host for Kohaku
other than Matsushita and Arashi,
Terry Ito, Sekine Mari, and Mizuki Nana will also make appearance as "Kohaku Supporters"
which is the same as last year's
This year’s “Kohaku” will start on 7:15 p.m and run until 11:45 p.m. on December 31st!
