Well the weather is really warm - i take a shower and 20 seconds later i'm feeling all hot and sticky ....
thats what you notice most here is that stickiness...
The funeral went as well as any funeral could go - have to say i was most impressed with the funeral home.
I was not terribly impressed with the preacher that delivered the service....
The minute i touched down i had to attend the wake which was held at the void deck of the apartment building.
Then i took over looking over the cortege and enabled my parents and brother to have a rest since they'd been up the night previous -
which was interesting seeing as i had almost no sleep on the plane - so it was almost a 24hr stint - things were starting to look woozy...
Then i got an hour's kip before we had to rush off to the crematorium.
Funny how someone you loved dearly can then be fit into a plastic ice-cream tub - the funeral parlour guy said my nan was tough - he'd never seen so much calcium /bone pieces after a cremation...
He was right - she was tough.
We threw the ashes into the sea in a short symbolic ceremony by boat out to pulau ubin. There was very little gloom though still tears when we returned.
Family is still going through the reminding ourselves that grandmother won't be joining us for dinner tonight phase...
The problems still continue as someone's put a hex on my year - and yesterday my grandmother (the remaining living one) was rushed to hospital for a ruptured appendix and she is in hospital as i type - i will be seeing her later.
i don't feel much like talking to people who can only seem to ask when i think i might return or how i'm doing
i'm just tired and wanting to get it all over with.
kityn has been great though... really been there for me.
The plan is to go off to thailand on the 9th for a short break and tuesday i'm meeting her lesbian mates! (something i've wanted to do for ages)
we're attending the launch of a GLBT online mag. progress is good!
