As told by my husband (taken from his blog because I am feeling lazy and don't want to type something up for myself
)
"Sarah and I had a succesful first Christmas on our own. We got up about 6:30 and opened our presents. We got all kinds of good stuff. Then we cleaned up all the trash and started on our dinner. A couple other guys I go to school with had also just spent all their money moving their wives out here, so the three couples decided to do our own dinner together. Sarah and I hosted the "potluck," making turkey, ham, stuffing, gravy, and candied yams. The Schapers brought green bean casserole and mashed potatoes while the Bertmeyers brought corn and dinner rolls. It was a lot of work, but our dinner was quite the success. Afterward we all sat around talking, watching movies, and playing games.
Sarah and I have been kind of lazy since then, just trying to recuperate from the long, hard Christmas Day. So, now we look forward to the Meinke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte on Saturday. It's Navy vs. Boston College. The MWR office is providing transportation, tailgate party, and game ticket for just $10/person. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Then we'll crash some New Year's Party somewhere and I'll have a day to recover before I start up class again. Hope everyone else is enjoying their holidays as much as we are.
There are some pictures on my profile and a whole lot more at our online photo collection:

.....I guess he pretty well sums it up.
