The following just proves that people are idiots on the smallest things....
Even better-when you have Dockers on, that your store (Fred Meyer) sells, you have big hips, and they tell you that the pants are too tight on you! I'm sorry, but not all pants are going to fit everyone the same.
-.-;;
And here's another one-the seniority issue if you're union. I have 20 hours for next week...I've been at this particular store for 3, almost 4, years. There is someone that's lower than me on the list of cashiers that has 40 hours next week, so I'm trying to claim his schedule. WTF?! The damn cashier productivity chart has absolutely nothing to do with the union contract, and the representative told you that himself this morning! Why can't you just let me claim the damn schedule already?
What REALLY pisses me off is when someone gets more hours than I do and they've been there for less time. Something's not quite right there. I swear my store director is a fucking idiot sometimes. She refuses to let us have his hours because the "cashier productivity chart measures our performance." Yeah, maybe just how fast we check groceries per hour. I'm sorry, but that does NOT supercede the seniority clause.
Here's the letter that I typed up on Microsoft Word to give to my store director regarding Mike's shifts for next week that I am very capable and available to work. If I don't get the hours, I will file a grievance with the union. My store director should not be able to get away with screwing the senior employees over on our hours because she doesn't want to pay another cashier more money since they've been there longer.

To ************:
Please consider this a written request per the union contract for up to 40 hours in my job classification as a cashier in CCK. I am currently part-time 20 hours and am able, available, and qualified to work any nighttime closing shifts.
My reason for this written letter is because I am requesting a schedule claim of Michael ****'s shifts from 3-11:30 pm beginning the week of June 1, 2003, which total 40 hours. As of this time, I have no restrictions, have seniority, and am familiar with closing shifts since I have closed regularly before. Michael has restrictions, like I normally do for school, yet he has received 40 hours repeatedly for the past few weeks. I would appreciate it if I could have his hours due to seniority. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Stephanie *******
