As some of you know I am so excited to be going back to school this fall. I will attend the illustrious
Arkansas State University - Mountain Home. I'm so excited and that fervor abound when my friend Chris picked me up for a road trip. This is an old tradition of ours, whereby we drive an obscene amount of time in one direction and then find another route home. Back in Chicago, we've been know to leave at midnight and not return until ten pm that night, having spent the better part of the day across two other states. And where oh, where did we end up? (Fanfare please!)
Batesville, AR! And I love it. Batesville is such the small town I grew up in, only with actual institutions of higher education, other gays with which to associate (Thank Cher for that!), and even a company-owned store that offers me the possibility of transfer. I am so excited. Lyons college is so right up my ally: a Scottish university, at the much better bottom of these here mountains, in a town I can breathe in and relate to, and it offers one Mater's program: my MBA! This is my goal, look Mom aren't you proud I made one! Hi mom (who has just figured out how to track my cyber-life, and reads my blogs, woot!)! Within two years I will be living
here, going to
this college, and totally scoring points with my ever-judgemental relatives. I may not own a
golf course like they do, but one day I may just learn to play golf wearing a kilt from my Scottish alma mater.
