Curious George wants to see...

Jan 05, 2007 03:03

It's seems old King George now wants the right to open our mail. (story)

I can't wait to be rid of this neanderthal. it's going to take years to undo the damage to our constitutional rights that he has done. We have lost liberties in the last few years that will will never see again. Talk about the slow fall of democracy!

According to Mr. Prez, though, he has the right to do it now whether they have proof of you doing something or not. There is no more privacy in the United States anymore, and unfourtunatly, it looks as though the rest of the world is following suite.

Before, if there was suspect that you were a part of an organization, a terrorist activity, or something of that nature, the government would have to submit a claim with the FBI to get a warrant to 'spy' on you. Now they don't even have to be suspect.

All phones in the US (or virtually all, these days) are wired for certain words now. "Bomb" "Dirty Bomb" "terrorism" "Osama" "I'm gonna kill the president" ect- and even mundane things like, "Impeachment" or "death in the white house" are all recorded to different government resorts. These are triggered by electronics, with certain phrases or words being red-lined for immediate review.

It's not that we weren't being 'brothered' before- it's just that now the government does not need permission of the Law Enforcement to brother you.

Unfourtunatly, now, our e-mails are monitered, and even our snailmail is being tracked. Bush putting it on the books is only making it more public and more accessable to government facilities.

So let's say you get a package from.... www.ihatepresidents.org or some such none-sense like that. The government would be able to open the package, search it, and then create a reason to enter your home, and possibly arrest you based on what you believe.

Unfourtunatly, these freeedoms have been slowly dissapearing since the Cold War- but it's been mostly in Bush Jr.'s 'regime' that we've seen our options and rights go down the shithole. His so called 'war on terror' is a front for a government that is quickly discarding democracy in favor of instilling its peoples will fear of punishment. Read up on your votes. Pelosi is another one who got into the White House with unaccounted votes. When confronted with the opposition, she offered the other woman a chair in theHouse as well. But why re-count votes? Oh no! What might they find?

Hacked terminals, deleted votes, accrued votes for voters who have been dead for more than four years. I find it all a little fishy myself. And with such a strong reek following both the republican AND the Democratic partis around- I personally say; It's time to Clean house. Start at the top, and work your way right down to the Senate Seats!

*coughs* I hate politics.

I'm an opinionated bitch on certain things. I hate politics, but enjoy my civil rights. I'd love to see the remain in tact, since, even tho I live here in Canada, I'm still American for another two years.

And as far as how Canadians view their government- My husband put it to me like this one day;

"We vote for the party that we want in, not the individual- which is why most canadians don't even know who our prime minister is."

As far as I understand, most of the people up here could care less about politics, scandals or wars, so long as the taxes are put in the right places, the party in power does the right things, and Tim Hortons remains open.

As far as Moxy Fruvous is concerned, however, I'm afraid I've never heard of this.
