Stargazing...
Late at night when all the world is sleeping.
I stay up and think of you.
And I wish on a star,
That somewhere you are thinking of me too.

And there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be
Than here in my room dreaming about you and me.

I can't sleep...So, I retreat to my secret place. I bring my blanket, and sit under the stars, and enjoy the peaceful silence. Normally during these times, my mind is blank, and wanders aimlessly. During these times, I take the time to let my mind clear itself...But, tonight is different.
My mind is completely consumed. I try listening to music, but every song reminds me of you, of us. I turn the music off, to listen to the fountain, and the thunder in the distance. As I close my eyes, and feel the gentle breeze ...I hear your voice. I feels as if it comes in on the breeze and exits with the thunder's roar. I can hear your laugh...I can hear your words. Past conversations replay in my mind. As the ache of missing you begins to creep in my mind, I decide to open my eyes and attempt to think of something else. I begin to stargaze..even though the storm is rolling in, I can still see the stars shining brightly through the clouds. I look for constellations...begin to make my own objects out of the stars' design...and yet you enter my thoughts again. I remember we both share a facination with the stars...and how we're supposed to do this together one day. And, suddenly the ache, that ache that comes from missing you, has entered my heart. I realize that there is no escape...nowhere to hide...from my thoughts of you...I miss you. As much I tried to run from it, your memory, it finds me. There is no escape...You are a part of me...A part of my heart.
The lighting begins to flash...The thunder booms closer...The air smells of rain...I retreat to my room. I get into bed...and there you still are. I see your picture...Those eyes...Those lips...Everything. I smile...You love my smile. There is no escape...Wherever I am...There you are. I can still see the stars from my bed...I make my nightly wish...A wish for us. And, I wonder do you see the same stars? Am I on your mind like this? Do you wonder about me? Dream about me?
As sleep begins to settle in...I smile...I'll meet you in my dreams...
