Kaname? Akito?

Would it be all right were I to miss work for this evening? I can certainly get most of my work done in the afternoon, but I have made other plans with Simon for the evening.

It's alright, we can manage without you for a night or two.

So where is he taking you? Hmm... I don't think she'll understand teasing. I'll just have to tease Simon instead.

To a nice restaurant, but he did not say where it was. But I must decide what I will wear, so as to be dressed appropriately.

That's kinda romantic, he's making it be a surprise. And I can help you pick something out, if you want some help.

That would be nice, Kaname!

But what is romantic?

Great, I'll help you out before your date.

Wha? You don't know what romantic means and you accepted a date with Simon?

Yes. He asked me if this evening was acceptable and I asked you, and you said that it was fine. Would it be better if we went out together on a different date? Perhaps January 22nd!

Oh god, I guess I better explain to her what a date is or poor Simon is going to be crushed.

Nia, date has another meaning besides what day is. It can also mean going out somewhere with another person to have fun. Like when Duo and I went to Fumo Fumo Land. That was a date.

It can also be that the person who you're going out on a date with really, really likes you and considers you to be special to them.

That is called a date?

Then I have already gone on one with Simon! And with--

Ah, but...

I have only been on a date with Simon.

Good, you understand. And since Simon told you to dress-up for tonight's date it's should be somewhat romantic.

Oh, and romantic is another word for romance. That's when someone really cares about you and wants to do something special that they think you'll like.

That is very kind of him.

But he had done many things that I like. So he does not need to do another thing...

Silly, he's doing this because he wants to do this for you. It makes him happy to make you happy, if that makes any sense. So you should just go and have fun.

And if tonight's date goes well, you should ask him out on a date in a week or so. I think Simon would really like that.

Yes...that makes sense, I understand now.

What should I ask him to do?

Well, there are lots of things you can do on a date. Lots of people like going to see a movie, or to go ice skating, sing karaoke, or have a picnic in a park. It's all about what both of you would like to do.

But for now, let's get you ready for tonight's date. Worry about asking for another one later.
