Hello to All once again!
B and I had a very wonderful week in beautiful New Zealand and I took hundreds and hundreds of pictures. It was about halfway into the week I realized I had no pictures of this great scenery with Merlin the stretchable monkey in them. So I reached into my purse to grab him and he was not there! Later that night I dove into my giant backpack in search of Merlin. Then finally after an hour of searching I came to the conclusion that he was gone! I grabbed my camera to search for that last picture he appeared in…it was in Sydney at the Opera House. He had not been seen since.
After lots of searching, phone calls and emails I have come up with 3 possible conclusions to his whereabouts.
Scenario #1
When we left Sydney to head to Cairns we left in a rush to catch our flight. The hostel that we were at had you bring down your sheets when you checked out. I think just in am moment of stress I may have wrapped him up in my sheets and turned him to the front desk. (along with my new adidas jacket)
Upside of this scenario: He would be a clean monkey.
Scenario #2
We had a layover at the Brisbane Airport on our way up to Cairns. While we were there we had to re-enter through security. During this time I was randomly selected for an explosives test. I did not mind this till my bag came up positive numerous times, causing sever airport security guards and two cops to come. This also meant my checked baggage needed to be pulled off the plane and searched. Merlin may have escaped during this time.
Upside of this scenario: He could fulfill his life long dream of being a pilot.
Scenario #3
While we were in Greece Merlin met a stuffed kangaroo named Slappy, who was traveling with our friend Romi. Merlin and Slappy went out for drinks and soon became a hot item. They had many evenings out together in Athens and have kept in touch through e-mail since they were separated.
Now Merlin appeared last in a picture in Sydney…this is Romi’s permanent home is when she is not traveling and I know Slappy and Merlin exchanged addresses. I think he may have run off to find her.
Upside of this scenario: He would get to spend his time with the love of his life.
Anyways life is sad without my monkey, but I hope that he is happy! Please let me know if you hear any info!!!
Miss you all,
~meg
Oh yeah so, right now we are scheduled to be spending our Christmas on the beautiful beaches of Fiji. But apparently according to the US government there should be no unnecessary travel there due to the coup. So we skipped home 10 days early and hopped in my car and headed to Tucson to surprise my family for Christmas. B and I will be back in LA for new years!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!
