We have finally have internet and power again after the freak, horror-storm that came through Vicksburg/Jackson/Ridgeland Friday. There were huge (some of them so big that I couldn't have put my arms around them) trees ripped up by the roots, people who lost roofs, and about 90,000 people with no power.
We were lucky because: we live in an apt, at least it wasn't hot, and there were plenty of restaurants around that were serving food. It could have been way worse. We had to throw away everything in our fridge/freezer which was probably about $300, but that's cheap compared to needing a new roof or having to have a tree removed from your yard.
Phew.
One of my main concerns was that I missed cleahpatra's birthday on Sunday. So, I'm a little belated, but hopefully better late than never. Happy Birthday, cleahpatra!!!!!
