Sail Boston 2009

The Tall Ships were in Boston this weekend and since it was a gorgeous day, I decided kind of spur of the moment (well, not that spur of the moment) to head into Boston yesterday to check them out. The weather was perfect - we could not have asked for nicer weather to be there. About 80, clear blue skies, nice breeze - perfect summer weather in New England. I had a BLAST. I met up with Erica in Government Center around noon, we went and got lunch and then headed to the waterfront. We walked down the pier and decided to wait in line to board the Russian ship, which is the largest one that came in. We were only in line for about an hour, and it was totally worth it. After spending some time of the ship (and being highly amused by the amount of harbor traffic and the poor Boston policeman who was directing said harbor traffic), we walked down the harbor and ended up at the Aquarium. There were other ships docked along the water too at the various piers, but you couldn't go on all of them. That was fine - I was happy to admire from a distance. It really was an amazing experience and I'm glad I went. We finished off the day with dinner and drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe and I finally got home around 8:15 or so, charged up the battery on the camera a little, and pulled my pictures off. I took a bunch before my camera died - the battery was fully charged but I was using the super mega zoom on some stuff out in the harbor so I'm sure that drained it some. It was so worth being tired for today. Anyway - since I don't have much else going on, y'all are getting a pic dump from yesterday. Oh and all of these are out of the camera, no editing. Just goes to show you how amazing of a day it was. Also, these are all up on facebook, so if you're friends with me on there, you've probably seen them already. They went up last night.

^ Probably one of my favorite pictures I took all day.
