Random Goings On

And I shouldn't be, except, oh yeah, it's raining again. Although I shouldn't complain about that either - because it was STUNNING over the weekend. Perfect summer weather. low 80's, no humidity, blue skies, big puffy clouds. The rivers are high everywhere and some lakes/beaches have had to shut down because of high bacteria counts in the water thanks to all the run off from the rain. But I'm just tired. Coming back to work after a long weekend sucks. Yesterday I wasn't quite sure what day it was, and today I'm still not in my groove. Coffee is helping, but still. Blah.

Totally changing the subject, sometimes I go through a drought with certain albums, and then when I do listen to them in full, it's like rediscovering them all over again. Happened to me with Ours and their album Mercy. I'd been listening to them as they came up on shuffle on the ipod, or on the mix CD I made, but for some reason the other day, I felt the need to put Mercy in the CD player in the car and I was reminded why I love them so much. The album is genius. I've been going through Ours withdrawal, and I'm really excited to see them in August, even though they're only opening for Blue October & Switchfoot so it will be a shorter set instead of their usual long headlining set. But any Jimmy/Ours is better then none. And its been far too long. Same thing happened to me with David Cook's CD. I actually listened to it and am reminded why I love it. But I'm excited for his second album becuase he's said that it's going to be more of a band effort which is awesome. Him and Neal and Andy writing together is pure genius. It's where we got the awesomeness that is Anodyne. This is a cool acoustic version with Andy singing it, and this is a great version of David singing it in concert. (and probably my favorite version for just the emotion that he puts into it). That's the epicness I'm hoping for on the next album.

Ok, bullet time!

• My weekends, beginning next weekend are pretty much full from now through the end of summer. While that's a good thing to be busy, I'm going to have to remember to get some R&R when I can or I'm going to get sick.

• 6 weeks until Erin Arrives! She'll be here the last week of August and I can't wait! There will be epicness.

• I can't wait for my dress to get here for Heather's wedding. David's Bridal said August 7 at the latest, but I'm hoping it'll be in the next couple of weeks.

This is probably one of the funniest things I have seen in a LONG time. Guitar Solo during Bar-ba-Sol at David's concert on July 4. Ryan Star (who has been opening and who you should all check out because his music is effing awesome) helped his bassist Artie shave, using Bar-Ba-Sol shaving cream. I could not stop laughing. I'm going to miss those guys.

• Twitter is addictive. Moreso then facebook.

• My coffee flavor of choice lately has been Hawaiian Macadamia Nut. ITS SO GOOD.

• Allan is feeling better. He's about over the mono and we hung out last Friday night. Also, saw Star Trek. He's living on an "I told you so" high right now. Star Trek was a good story. And holy SHIT, Chris Pine is hot. I'd do him.

I think that's all I got right now because i'm still tired. There is no amount of coffee in the world that will wake me up right now.

Hope everyone had a great 4th!
