Psychology: Well, Brigitta can definitely be termed as a little messed up… But then again she was kidnapped and raped by a demon, ripped apart by the Minotaur just after giving birth to a half demon son and forced to spend 5000 years trapped in a cave so that’s really to be expected.

Really Brigitta is doing remarkably well considering all those things, she looks like just a normal, often rather shy girl.

Brigitta is rather shy around unknown company, she tends to keep her eyes down around people she doesn’t know and keeps her voice quiet unless particularly roused… And yet she does really want to get to know people, she’s been without company for many years and even if she isn’t very loud at times she tends to gravitate to large groups of people like a moth to a flame.

She’s also highly imaginative, a dreamer by nature Brigitta is always dreaming of something better and she can picture things extremely clearly in her head, something which kept her from going completely insane in both her imprisonments.

Not to say that she isn’t a little insane by today’s standards, she’s experienced the world of the Demonata in close detail and her morals are a little eroded as a result, she knows that stealing and killing to keep herself alive are wrong but if the situation came to that she’d do it and not look back. Brigitta has experienced too much to judge most of the time on human morals.

Really Brigitta can be said to have PTSD, she still has nightmares as a result of her experiences in the Demonata’s universe and partially as a result she has great trouble in getting to sleep, sleeping only when she absolutely needs to and then only in short bursts if she can help it.

She can also not cope with enclosed spaces and completely dark places, contact with such things will make her hysterical and if that contact is sustained she’ll probably start going insane. She usually avoids talking about the dark, enclosed spaces and demons too, she won’t go completely hysterical if forced to talk about them but she will often be brought to tears if she talks.

She’s also hyper-vigilant, meaning that she is always studying her environment, since she was trained to act as a future queen she is extremely good at covering this up but she is still always assessing the area around her and often has at least one weapon concealed in her clothing just in case.

Brigitta was being trained to be an eventual queen, as such she’s very good at hiding her emotions and putting on a act, she doesn’t usually feel the need to act but occasionally she will completely repress things beneath a mask, this is another potential reaction to being forced to confront her fears.

The final thing to bear in mind with Brigitta is that she is fiercely maternal; she was parted from her son only a few moments after he was born and has never held Beranabus or had much interaction with him… She still feels extremely connected to him though, and basically has the maternal instincts of a bear. Beranabus is the one person she will face her every fear for; just to make sure he’s safe.

So that’s Brigitta, just your completely average, completely damaged person.

…Whose son looks like her grandfather.

Other Skills/Abilities: - A moderately powerful magical user, though she hasn’t quite discovered this yet.
- Absolutely fantastic at using swords.
- Good at daggers too
- Moderately skilled in most of the “traditional womanly arts” (Sewing, dancing, playing instruments…)
- Good at climbing.
- Rather agile
- Good at languages

Other Weaknesses:
- Anything modern (Computers, I-pods, cars…) is either likely to make Brigitta extremely confused or break within five minutes of coming near her.
- Is absolutely hopeless with guns
- Cannot cook to save her life
- Was nearly illiterate, she’s trying to learn but she is rather slow at reading things.
- It might not count as a weakness but… She can’t bear anymore children, she’s completely infertile.

History: Once upon a time there was a girl named Brigitta, from her birth (because her father was a total jerk like that) she had been promised to a prince who was about ten years older then her and had been taught to do little queenly type things like making tapestries and dancing and bursting into song numbers being told that her basic purpose was to be quiet and force out babies.

Apart from that she had a fairly nice childhood, she had girls who were friends with her and boys who all secretly had a crush on her but kept their hands off and everything was perfect.

Until she reached sixteen, when she was about to get married to this prince (who everybody said was nice but who was actually a total jerk too), but the prince had made a priestess really mad (AKA, had gotten her pregnant and then called her a whore) and so she set a demon on his wedding party.

The demon (who was really a jerk) kidnapped Brigitta and took her to the Demonata’s universe, dragging her through lots of realms and then raping her and getting her pregnant, sending her back when she was sufficiently advanced enough for it to show.

The prince (who by this point really deserves to die in a fire) was disgusted by Brigitta and sent her off to be eaten by the Minotaur, with everything covered so nobody could turn around and go “hey! Jerkface! Let her go!”

Of course by this point she was on the cusp of giving birth, and while trying to escape the Minotaur was hard already it was even harder when nine months pregnant with a baby potentially about to rip out though the more direct way.

Eventually Brigitta did give birth, and then was immediately killed and eaten by the Minotaur, who then adopted her son and raised him… Luckily (Unluckily?) Brigitta actually found herself a resident of the walls of the Labyrinth and so spent a relatively okay few years wondering around in the walls after baby Beranabus (Yeah, Beranabus remained a baby for about fifty years at least) and the Minotaur, feeling fairly happy with life.

Until Theseus (who was also a great big jerk) came along, and killed the Minotaur, and forced her son to wander out of the Labyrinth into a brave new world… Leaving Brigitta behind.

This lead to the few thousand years alone, in the dark with no company at all… Until archaeologists found the labyrinth, and Brigitta popped back to life in a very surprised way.

Immediately thinking her to be a trespasser they kept her prisoner in a tent… But Brigitta went “You wish” (Or something like that) and broke out rather easily, intending to run to the nearest town and panic or something.

On the way she was intercepted by a guy called Kirilli (who is actually rather sweet and not at all a jerk) who immediately discovered that she had no clue how to speak English or even modern Greek… Now Kirilli was rather hopeless but he did know a spell to give people knowledge of languages (which shall hence be referred to as the Babel-spell) and taught Brigitta it.

Brigitta latched onto Babel-spell rather easily and got Kirilli to explain to her what exactly was going on… He explained about the Disciples as well, and upon hearing the name Beranabus Brigitta decided to stick with Kirilli in the chance of finding her son.

That was three months ago, and Brigitta is still following Kirilli around… But now they’re in Italy.

Reality Description: Earth, Italy, Milan, 2006… Normal at most times, exactly like the earth you’re probably used too.

Except y’know, the reason Kirilli and Brigitta are in Milan is because they’ve got tips of demons about to break through, because demons (The Demonata) exist in Brigitta’s universe, they can be in all sorts of shapes and they occupy a entirely different universe that it is quite easy to open portals to… Oh, and they hate humanity, which makes the incidents when they do come through extra fun.

Brigitta is by association a disciple, they try and stop the demons and can use magic and can also fight with other weapons too… It’s kind of necessary for the whole demon squishing job.

The myths are also a lot more real in Brigitta’s universe, The Minotaur that killed her? Was the actual Minotaur. There were also a lot of other fairy tale type creatures around, all are gone and most Brigitta never met but pretty much everything you can think of from any fairytale has existed on Brigitta’s universe.

Magic is quite the important thing in Brigitta’s universe, most humans don’t actually know about it but all humans have some magical potential in them, some with more potential then others… Brigitta, for example, has more magical potential than Kirilli.

Kirilli is probably the most important NPC in Brigitta’s universe, he taught her the Babel-spell needed to converse with people, tolerated her following him when she was completely confused and has protected her and taught her things that she wouldn’t have survived without, she considers him her best friend and they get along extremely well… Though she does consider him a brother rather then a romantic interest.

It’s generally a normal place to live.

Canon point: After the end of book six (Demon Apocalypse), About two months before the start of book seven (Death’s Shadow)
