Life = wee bit overwhelming right now.

Work is crazy right now. It's as if we hit a big wall that says, "Dumbasses, you have a detailed review in a month!" and now we are realizing how SCREWED we are.

Oddly, though I'm routinely frustrated and overwhelmed, I'd have to say this is the best job I've ever had. I get to work with really smart people on challenges no one has ever looked at. And Jeff as my new cube buddy (read, literally two feet from me) reminds me of school and the way we all got kind of slap happy and united in our pain. I laugh at least once a day at the stupid conversations we have, which really, you can't complain about.

SWE is out of hand - I'm not good at controlling the calls and I never get any feedback so as far as I know my board hates me and I'm doing a shitty job. Granted, that's probably not the case, but there lies my self esteem. One of my board members is planning a high school event and I am the keynote speaker. WTF? I'm not keynotable. If you were 16 and wanted to know more about engineering, what would you want to hear?? (That's a serious question if anyone has an idea)

Tomorrow I have yoga followed by the officer retreat. Then Mikey and I are going out to dinner! This is especially exciting because we've spend the week eating an 8 lb turkey breast and I am REALLY sick of turkey. Even in the curry form we made. But, it's been a good economical week for foodstuffs.

I've been using up my Christmas iTunes cards. I think iTunes is convinced I have multiple personalities, complicated by Mike and I sharing an account. The recent purchases:

Emily's Reel, with Yo-Yo Ma
This Will Be, Natalie Cole
At Last, Etta James
Monopol Polka, off an album called Polka in Paradise
We're All In This Together, HSM
Cliffs of Dover, Eric Johnson
Jessie's Girl, Rick Springfield
Don't Stop Believing, Journey

And I still have $8 left!! Huzzah!

Meggie Out.
