I'm supposed to be working on the Wayfinder game I'm running this summer, but my brain really doesn't want to. So I'm making an LJ update to try and get the writing muscles flexed.

This was something that's been swimming about in my head for the past few years, but a Neil Gaiman article that Ruby just sent me has got me in a deep-writing mood (I should be using this energy to write that Personal Reflection paper for Women's Studies, but then the magic will be gone).

So I finally watched Memoirs of a Geisha yesterday and actually quite enjoyed it. My only real complaint though is the dialog. It has a hefty smattering of Japanese but is primarily in English. English spoken in awkward Asian accents that almost make you wish the whole thing was in Japanese. I mean, I can understand that having the actors speak ( Read more... )
