Oh my gawd...it must be a big deal if you're going to include it in your next entry.

Sadly, I have not the vaguest idea of what a timtam is. At first I thought it was something you did (like a rave, come one people, let's go have a timtam), then I thought it was a food, then I realized I had no idea what the hell a timtam was.

And I am upset :(

Accoriding to our good friend wikipedia, the humble timtam is defined physically as thus:
"A Tim Tam is composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit, separated by a light chocolate cream filling, and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate."
Basically, timtams = le sex

Some other interesting information wikipedia has to offer is:
"In the United States, Tim Tams were sold on a trial basis in supermarkets in 2001 under the brand name "Double Trouble". Several companies sell mail order Tim Tams (along with many other Australian foods) in the United States. As of late, Tim Tams can be found on the shelves of Cost Plus World Market retailers under the name Arnott's Originals."

Now you can consider yourself educated on the glorious timtam =)

jacki covered that beautifully. but she forgot to mention that they grow on trees and now come in many different flavours, ie black forest, caramel, chilli and dark chocolate, chocolate truffle, and lots of other amazing flavours that i of course cannot think of right now. also delicious when consumed with milo (you know what that is right? chocolate drink) umm, yeah. bite off opposite corners and suck the milo throgh. the midlle goes all soft and squishy, the warmth spreads to the utside and you end up with a delicious gooey mess. yummers!
