I know isn't it! I hope that everyone who reads it can be more conscious of their use of plastics.

Seriously! Jon and I always recycle plastics, but now I don't even want to buy them... period! Except it's really hard with some products... everything seems to have plastic around it, even at health food stores. Ugh. I may start getting the milk that's in glass bottles from the local store, though, because those are refillable :)!

Yea I'm trying to not use plastics as much but you're right they are everywhere! One of my big problems is I use plastic bags a lot, like for bringing snacks for lunch, etc but I really am trying to cut back and use reusable tupperware instead. And recently I've started buying/using the reusable grocery bags, too!

I have a LOT of plastic bags left over... and I find myself using them to pick up Nellie's um... waste, when I walk her. I did buy some biodegradable ones, and I will switch completely to those once the plastic baggies are gone... but man. I couldn't believe how many I had when I looked in the garage! They're EVERYWHERE. I need to get some better tupperware. The pyrex stuff I have is too heavy to carry everywhere, haha.

And as far as grocery bags, we have three cotton canvas bags that we generally use for grocery shopping. Just gotta remember to always put em back in the car so we don't forget!

By the way, one of my local grocery stores has a bag recycling program, too (for plastic bags). I really need to get a lot of my stash to them, because hopefully they could be made useful again!

You know what, come to think of it I think my local grocery store does too. My mom reuses the plastic bags for various things too. Like I use them when I clean the poop out of my lizards tank because I don't really want to just throw it on top of the trash. They still end up in the same place though :(

I also ONLY like Aquafina water, no other water. I know this is absolutely ridiculous but I can't seem to find other water I like so I use a lot of water bottles. We recycle but it still makes me feel guilty. I forgot to bring the bags a lot when I go shopping but I usually just end up buying more, haha.

Yeah, that's tough... because I like the way that water tastes too, so I know what you mean! I switched to using a Brita filter on my faucet, though, and it's been awesome! I think the bottles from Aquafina are recycleable, but the caps aren't. That's the crappy thing about bottled products, the caps usually can't be recycled. Blah.

And, lol, I've totally bought more bags at the market when I forget mine. Though, now I have so many that I feel guilty getting more. I have been asking for paper at places, though, b/c then I can store recycleable paper in it and then just dump the whole thing... bag & all into the recycle bin!

I agree with the paper bag thing, plus I don't feel as bad if i use paper because at least it's biodegradable although it's still killing trees. After reading that article though I never want to use plastic again. (Although that's impossible!)

You should join naturalliving I joined recently and I love it! They have lots of great ideas and I know you're into that stuff too.
