Christmas Meme

1. Real tree or artificial?
Definitely artificial. We always had a real tree growing up and that taught me exactly how much I didn't want one in my own house. The constant PineSol aroma, the constant needle mess, remembering to water it, and the pain in the butt they are to put up. We have a six foot artificial tree now not an expensive one but it has worked for the past three years. It is starting to fall apart a bit now though so we are going to splurge on a really nice one next year that will be bigger and longer lasting.

2. When do you put up the tree?
Either Thanksgiving evening or within a couple of days afterwards. We like to have it up by the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

3. When do you take down the tree?
Usually sometime in January. Not really a specific time, just whenever we get time.

4. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
I hate wrapping gifts, so I use gift bags for any adults. My baby gets wrapping paper though so that he can tear open his presents!

5. When do you start Christmas shopping?
I tend to do it last minute, I don't usually get things for many people, my son gets top priority and if there's money left after that my hubby then on to my sibs and friends. I just did most of my shopping last night so I'm actually more ahead than usual. It often doesn't get done until within a week of the holiday.

6. Who is the hardest person to buy for?
My mom, because she rarely ever wants anything!

7. Easiest person to buy for?
My son.

8. Angel on top of the tree, or star?
We currently have an old fashioned Santa, but it was a gift (our whole tree setting was mostly a gift). I prefer a star or bow, and will get one to go with our new tree next year!

9. What is the worst Christmas gift you ever got?
Well Diana's mom always tries but doesn't really know me well enough to get me something I'd really like. One year she got me a scarf that was orange and paisley...I thought it was hideous but kept it because I *never* throw anything out, and it was smart because now scarfs are in and I actually like it!

10. What is the best gift you received as a child?
I got a lot of great gifts growing up, but I think the best ever was my huge framed movie theater sized Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban poster. That has really been my prized possession, hung in my living room for many years and now it's decorating my son's room.

11. What is your favorite food to eat at Christmas time?
Peppermint Mocha Lattes from Starbucks! Well it's not really a food, it's a beverage, but it's the highlight of my holiday season, even if money's tight I'll always get at least one.

12. What do you want for Christmas this year?
Now that I live in a house and not an apartment I have lots of space to decorate and I'm still trying to fill it up and make it feel like home. So any housewares are appreciated. I can always find a way to display something even if it's not something I would've picked out on my own!
