What time period would you rule in?: A really long time ago... before there was much written history.
Which country or region would you rule over?: Either northern France or somewhere in the British Isles... I wouldn't object to somewhere in northern Europe like Denmark, though.
Which monarch (mythical or real) do you most admire (in terms of political ability, court life, looks, etc)?: Honestly? Those crazy Celtic warrior queens like Medb and Boudicca. They're pretty awesome; they pretty much did what they wanted and if you disagreed, it wasn't their problem. I really admire that sort of spirit.
Describe your court and your wardrobe: Intellectual by day & we'd party at night. ;) I couldn't be happy without being able to have mentally engaging coversations ~ my court would be full of astronomers and philosophers and I should probably throw in some mathmaticians, too, just to mix it up a little. Serious, but not still able to laugh at ourselves a little. Besides, what kind of a princess would I be if I wasn't looking after and learning about my country and my people? It would be informal, with open court days & such.
My daily clothes would be elegant and well-made but not too fancy; practical but pretty. I'd offer feasts every night (if I could) and dances ~ no one would have to go if they didn't want to, including me (but the dances would happen even if I wasn't there). There'd be excellent food and music. My evening wardrobe would be beautiful, colorful, probably sparkly, and fairy-tale-princessy.
Describe your prince (or princess!): He'd be kind, funny, and energetic, with slightly different interests than me ~ we'd have stuff in common but not too much. Also, he'd have pretty eyes and great hair.
Which comes first: your prince or your ladies-in-waiting?: My ladies-in-waiting, I think, but my prince would be a close second. Someone to gossip with, and a shoulder to cry on if my prince & I are fighting, and someone to support when they need a hug.
How do you view/feel about love?: I don't really know! I've never been in love, so I can only say what I think/what I want love to be like. To me, real love is knowing someone's not perfect - or even that they're far from perfect - and still caring deeply about them. It's sacrifice and compromise and getting things in return.
I want to be in love, someday, but I don't want it to cliché, chick-lit beach reading love. & I don't think that's going to happen for a while, so until then I'm content with loving my friends and family.
