He was assassinated the next day.

For someone who is supposed to be so prolific with words, I find it suprising that I truly have little to say. I cannot put into text how brave, couragous, or heroic I find MLK, or how much wisdom his words have carried for me. His quote - In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. - shaped my life in some of my roughest times, and his life helped inspired my love of history. The story of my life pales in comparison to his, but yet my story does not dimminish, it is rather flurshed and nurtured by a great American hero.
