O...K...
So I just got an email from my CIR (I forget what it stands for, sorry) in Koka-shi in Shiga prefecture. And he's like 'Welcome to the deep countryside of Koka! You are coming to a wonderful place full of mountains, tanuki, deer, cows, and the biggest lake in Japan!'

Dude. Whoa. Uh...I think I'm gonna be in the countryside...deeeeep countryside...
Which is fine--I'm actually more confused about what followed. Because the CIR guy mentioned something about me receiving a welcome letter from the current ALT (assistant language teacher, which is what I will be) in Shigaraki, whom I shall be replacing.
...Shigaraki? First time I've heard of this!
And then I got a very nice email from that ALT, also saying I'm headed to Shigaraki... Um, so how does this work? I did some googling and found that Shigaraki merged into Koka-shi...sooooooo um yeah...current JETers, any ideas what's going on? Of course I'm going to email her back and ask myself, but just wondering if this happened to you too...^^;;
