I love my yoga class. I started two months ago, and it's been wonderful. I leave feeling great every week and I've noticed great improvement in my flexibility even though I've only been at it for a short time.
But last night... She had to get tricky on us. We are working up to a very difficult position- a headstand. We practiced some preparatory moves and then she had us do "an easy, fun alternative type of headstand". I've never had great balance. I'm admitting my own idiocy here, but I've been known to fall out of my own shoes. So last night, in the tripod position, supposedly easy, I overbalanced and flipped over.
And I think I pulled a muscle in my back. I've been in pain all day. I can't take deep breaths or turn around quickly. If it hadn't been my second to last day, I would have stayed home from work. As it was, my very good friend spent half of his lunch break giving me a massage. Which felt wonderful, but all of the pain came back as soon as I had to get up and go back to work.
It's been all day and it hasn't improved. The nurse at work told me to lay down and put heat on it, and take painkillers.
So, while Paul goes out with his friends to watch the UofL- Rutgers game, I am going to lay on the hard wood floor downstairs and watch Father Ted.
I hope it's better tomorrow... I would like to enjoy what I can of my last day...
