I would totally go pick her up (the panhandle is like a 5-6 hour drive?) if I had an apartment that didn't charge a $600 non-refundable pet deposit...

Man, that's expensive... It should be refundable, if your pet doesn't mess up anything..

I agree, but it's not. Even if it were, it would probably take a year after you move out for them to refund it. Everything takes soooo long here.
