Have you looked into renting a car from Budget or Dollar Rent-a-car? They rent to younger people and are usually pretty cheap, especially if you can find an online coupon.

Thanks! I even tried switching my "media"--taking a flight up and the bus back and vice versa. I could only get it down to $153 total. I know that my parents' (and Lucy's, coz she's a nag like that) concern is that I've never made such a long drive by myself, and if weather conditions stay the way they are today, then it's gonna be a hell of a drive. But I'll check out a rented car and see what I can do. :)
