Daisy Verlaine McGinley
Lily & Sean are happy to announce the birth of their beautiful daughter Daisy Verlaine McGinley. She was born at 2:20pm on Friday, May 28th, weight 7lb 7oz and 21 inches. Lily is doing well & over the moon to have her family complete at last! Pictures to come!

My grandmother's name was Marguerite, which is French for Daisy. My mother's name, Dove, began with D and in the Jewish tradition of her family you name your child "after" a deceased loved one by giving them a name starting with the same letter, but not the same name). Not only is it a flower, just as my name, Lily, is also a flower, but it is the birth-flower for the month of April, when my mother's birthday falls.
Verlaine is a derivation of the name Vera, which means "faith", something that was central to my mother's life & something that she instilled strongly in me.
It is also a nod to the singer Vera Lynn, whose most famous song "We'll Meet Again" was one my mother loved from her childhood. Whenever I hear it, I feel like the lyrics are something she would say to me now if she could.
