It's not often someone asks you to forget them because they love you...
So the kidlet and his Dad left today for Florida to see the space shuttle launch, and they won't be returning until next Wednesday. This is a little hard for me as I have never been away from him for more than five days before, and that was always while being severely distracted by Mickey Mouse. So far I think I'm handling it well, but let's be honest, I only just dropped them off at the airport a couple of hours ago.
Anyway, as soon as the kidlet got up this morning he hugged me real tight, and then looked up into my face and said very seriously, "Mommy, I want you to forget me. That way you won't miss me so much."
Everyone all together now, "AWWWWWWWWE!"
I told him that it wasn't possible, but that was okay. I told him I was excited about how much fun he was going to have, and that I would have fun too. But it would be a different kind of fun than I was used to because I was used to all of my fun times being with him. I'm pretty sure he bought it. ;)
