I was reading my flist for about the 20th time today without any recent posts when I realized I haven't updated in a little while. So here goes!
Work is work. I'm working a full 40 hours this week, and when you figure in that part of my Preschool job is planning off the clock, I'm working A LOT!!! It's a good classroom and a good class with a good co-teacher. Nothing is fantastic, but nothing is horrible either. I'm feeling a little stretched thin right now, but I can hardly blame work as much as I'd like to.
Jeremy and I are joining a LARP. It's called the Artorian Order of the Knights of Pendragon, or AOKP. I know, I know... we seriously ARE the biggest nerds on the planet. The good news is we've found people like us! We're "page turning" with is the equivalent of MECing for TBS and I'm having so much fun meeting all these new dorks and uping my level of dorkitude. I have to decide on a name by tomorrow night and I'm still waiting to hear back from my prospective Older Sister. Other than that, I'm right on target.
The Harry Potter meetup is still loads of fun. I went for the first time since the book release last week and unfortunately spent the whole time talking AOKP with Myra. *sigh* better luck next time. =)
In Flagstaff we gravitated toward the serious couples with common interests like Regi and Alec and so on. We hadn't found a replacement for them (not that they've be replaced) but you know someone who is in the same type of place in life, close to our age with similar interests. Well, mission:accomplished. Enter Myra and Kurt. Very cool people! Kurt is Jeremy's Older Brother in AOKP and Myra is our Seneschal (VPS-ish) so she can't be my Older Sister. But I'm hopeful that I'll find someone of equal coolness to shepherd me. =) It's a shame they live so far away (Fullerton) or I would be attacking Myra more. As it is, we see a lot of each other and she's my new Hero. I have so much to learn from her! I thank God everyday for sending her to me.
Regi's pregnant again. She's got a little girl brewing in her tummy. She's 20.5 weeks and she just had the ultrasound this morning that showed that it is a girl. Regi's known for 2 months she says that it is a girl, but didn't want to believe it. Alec and Regi wanted another boy, but I heard her say that she is a little relieved that she won't have to miss out on ballet classes and all those little girl things. She is a wonderful woman and I have much respect and love for her too. I'm so happy I get to annoy Alec with incessant PINK!!!! It is a happy day for me. However, I am sorry that Regi feels "she can't get her way on anything." I wish for her nothing but peace and joy with this new little bundle.
AND... we are fresh back from Amie's wedding. She's a newlywed. It was a beautiful ceremony and a very fun reception. Boy was it a joke getting around though. We missed our plane Thursday morning because we left one of our bags behind and had to ask Pachi to bring it to us. But we were too late. Security getting to the gates took more than an hour and there were MANY people who missed their planes. It was horrible. So we didn't get into our hotel until after midnight and that's after finding out we booked the wrong hotel, canceling our reservation en route to the new hotel and hoping to beg, borrow or steal our way into one of their rooms. We arrived got a room and crashed HARD!!! During the night Jeremy's fan broke a blade so we were vibrated to sleep all weekend and slept poorly because of it. But We did our part for Amie and that was our function. Mom was mom and pissed Amie off a lot. Jeremy went to lunch with Dad and Dad offered an apology to me THROUGH him about his behavior in London. Oh well. I guess it's too much to ask to be viewed as an equal by someone who obviously looks down on women. *shrug* Now I know what to expect. I know where I stand. Amie is Mrs. Doyle now. What a God send. I pray she'll be happy forever.
My oh my. What a tangled web we weave. Love you all. (((hugs to you all)))
