I finally registered with an NHS dentist! Actually my mother did it for me, but it turned out to be a good thing because I immediately developed a poorly tooth.
I took Poorly Tooth to see new dentist today. She was okay. She did keep stopping during her examination but I got the feeling that she thought I was being a wuss. Oh well, tough luck to you dearie. I know it's silly being petrified of the dentist at my age but it's the way I'm made. Anyway, my root canal is failing after 10 years. I had two options; to redo the root canal or to remove the tooth. I went for removal as being the least stressful treatment in the long run, although I'm far too young to lose my teeth! I am being referred to a specialist clinic in Redcar for the tooth removal so they can sedate me. I was told that the root canal will fracture so they have to remove the tooth in bits, which makes it quite a long process and it's not an easy one with lots of tugging and pulling *shrieks* So I'm going for the knockout drops option. The receptionists told me that there wasn't an extra sedation charge, it came under the standard NHS extraction fee. This is a Good Thing as £60 of my very limited hard earned funds are already swelling the coffers of the NHS this month.
All this means I'm in a right old strop this afternoon! Tonight my team at work are having their monthly night out. It is only a meal and drinks but it means that I can't afford to go *cue proper princess tantrum* We always have good nights out and I'm missing this month's. *pouts*
April seems a long way away.
