Magic & Monsters

Last month, I was egged on by both the Fairy GodBoyfriend and J.T. Ellison to get some of my short story backlist available for the Kindle and Nook. (Which I succumbed to peer pressure and did, thank you very much.)

But there do still exist people in the world who do not have - for one reason or another - a handheld book-reading device. For these people there is a fabulous alternative: Anthology Builder.

Anthology Builder is like making your very own personalized mixed-tape. You get to choose the cover (from a dazzling array of illustrations), the title, the authors (from a fantastic range of stories), and the “playlist”, as it were. (You can even make it large print!) Get this all set up, push a button, and using print-on-demand technology, for $14.95 you have your very own anthology.

And the authors even make decent royalties.

It’s the perfect thing to have when you’re going to a convention - find the authors you’re going to meet, set up an anthology of all their stories, and have them sign it! Have a friend who hasn’t read your favorites? Put an anthology together for them and give it as a gift! It’s really a brilliant idea (for which we must all thank Nancy Fulda, the brilliant brainchild behind it all.)

So while I was getting all these stories ready for digital publication, I thought…why not put them up on Anthology Builder too? In fact…I probably have enough stories to make a collection of my very own. And I do! And it’s YA-OK!

I went ahead and put together the collection - cover, title, story order and all, so the only finger you have to lift is the one to press the button that says “BUY IT.” Consider it my personal mixed-tape for YOU. I call it Magic & Monsters. And because I am a Featured Writer this month on Anthology Builder, you get a $1 discount! Magic & Monsters can be yours for only $13.95, if you order before May 31st.

What are you waiting for? You need something to read on the beach this summer, don’t you? Act now!

About Magic & Monsters:

New York Times bestselling author Alethea Kontis is a princess, a goddess, a force of nature, and a mess. She is a genre chick, a fairy godmother, and a geek. She has made crotchety old men laugh and little girls cry. In these thirteen stories-never before collected anywhere else-Alethea plays all of the above roles, in some form or fashion. From monsters under the bed to monsters at the bottom of the sea, there is magic and mischief and everything in between.

While some of the tales will appeal to younger children, the anthology overall is best for ages 13 & up.
