Some other prophecies concern the demise of the United States over the next year, which will be followed by the final world war. This last war will be the result of clashing religions and the governments they sway. These religions are christianity, judaism, and islam.
(This blog is all about religious prophecy, so if you don't care to hear about it, don't continue to read).
The Jewish people have long believed that a messiah would come to deliver their people and establish a new kingdom that will reign on this earth. The messiah is believed to be a human, but not divine. They believe he will restore the Jewish kingdom and extend his righteous rule over all the earth, executing judgement and righting all wrongs. Through time, they have longed for the prophesised messiah to come. Many are still looking. Judaism does not accept that Jesus of the New Testament is the messiah spoken of in the Old Testament. Judaism and traditional Christianity believe part of the bible story but they can't reconcile their differences. The Jewish don't believe that Jesus was the messiah because he did not deliver them or set up a national kingdom for them. Christians do accept him as their savior, but they do not understand that a vital role of the messiah is to come and establish his throne over Judah and all Israel (some believe over all the earth). Christianity does not understand that the messiah is to reign on earth, and not in heaven. Things are said to happen that might reconcile their beliefs, because they each hold a part of the story. In traditional christianity, it is taught that the kingdom of god is in heaven, and heaven is described as the place where people go after death. Traditional christianity needs to carefully review some very obvious scriptures that show christ as a king who will rule on the earth, and not in heaven. People do not go to heaven when they die according to these scriptures: Acts 2:29, Acts 2:34, John 3:13, John 7:33-34
Preachers do not understand most of god's plan and purpose themselves in some scriptures, and so therefore can't explain it to others. For example, Revelations 20:6, which says "Blessed, and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection: On such the second death has no power..." What is the first resurrection, and what is the second death? Can someone actually die twice? And if they can die twice, how is it possible that they can live twice, in order to die twice? Traditional christianity doesn't address this verse because they cannot understand it.
Anyway, it's said that the time of trouble and devestation is soon to come and it is so great that there has never been a time like it during all man's time on this earth. This great physical tribulation will last for three and a half years. Then on the last day, the greatest destruction will come, thereby ending world war III. On that day, god himself is said to bring judgement, death, and destruction on the world. On the same day, jesus, the prophesised messiah, will return with resurrected members of the family of god, to reign over the earth. It's also told that most will not believe it, even as the world plunges into the most cataclysmic times it has ever seen.
Before the third and last world war, two witnesses sent by god will begin to say and do great things. And what will happen to them when their task is complete is this: "And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them." (Revelation 11:7) I don't know how, but the beast spoken of here is a military power that emerges out of Europe for the seventh and final time in history. "And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our lord was crucified." (Revelation 11:8) These two will be killed in Jerusalem with the approval and authority of this European military might. God is the one who proclaims that Jerusalem is spiritually like Sodom and Egypt. These two will be hated by most people for carrying warnings from god concerning these end-time events, and they will also have the power to bring devastating plagues upon the earth. Upon their death, people will have suffered so much during the final three and a half years that they will celebrate because they think the end to their suffering is in sight. But in that one day, the greatest destruction and death of any single day will be poured out on the earth, this time from god, as he puts an end to mankind's self-destruction.
The two witnesses will tell the world that mankind has come to the end of 6000 years of self-rule, and that the 6000 years were given to mankind to ultimately prove that man can exercise every kind of government, economic system, religious belief, family structure, educational model- and all of them would fail, as indeed all have failed. Nothing man does can produce true freedom, continuing peace, lasting happiness, prosperity, and fullness of life. God has brought mankind to this point to show them that if he did not intervene, man would indeed destroy himself.
