JCON breakdown
I missed a lot of Ippo last quarter, but the recap episode helped me catch up. And it also confirmed that I didn't miss much. *yawn*
I loved School Rumble and it seemed to get a fantastic response from the audience. I thought it was hilarious and I thought the art was cool, too. I do agree with Saker's point about the one-dimensional characters, though. But there's something to be said for simplicity sometimes.
Oh God, Get Backers was horrible. The first two episodes were so formulaic and boring. "OMG, I lost something important to me but I can't pay you!" "Too bad, we need money." "Hey now, let's be nice." "Oh, okay. Get Backers have taken on this assignment for sure!" "Here are your memories." "OMG, thank you!" By the third episode, I just didn't care. I do have some hope that it will get better, though.
Elfen Lied...best theme song EVAR! Best opening EVAR! The rest of it was a joke. The best part was when the one guy put up the dramatic display of x-rays for the guy whose eyes had been gouged out. In second place is "Do you want to...try touching my breasts?" And the only character I even remotely care about at all is freakin' Nana of all "people". I want to go Lucy on the other ones. Ugh.
