We've had a few of these over the past few days.
Lucy's moved up to the Frozen North (Edgehill University, between Southport and Liverpool) and aside from all the usual associated stress that that will incur, it made a couple of drama llamas with her boyfriend as well, but I think everything is sorted out for the better now (apart from the fact that he and my dad still have a mutual strong dislike thing going on...) and so I just hope she settles in. I went up in the van with them and I'm glad I did. Lucy was gonna have to sit in the back anyway (my stepmum was in the passenger seat) - yes I know it's illegal, my dad didn't have an alternative plan though... - and although he didn't think there would be enough room for me, a simple refusal to hear the word "no" ensured that after only a few minutes' rearranging there were now two seating areas in the back of the van, Lucy with a couple of blankets and me sitting on a large bag full of bedding, towels and scarves, so all in all it was quite comfortable and a rather enjoyable experience in fact. Aside from the fact that Dad wouldn't let us sing 10 Green Bottles, or other similar journey songs :-D. STILL, Lucy and I don't need to sing 10 Green Bottles in order to be annoying have a good time on a journey, so it was all good in the end :-)
We phoned her up at 10 o clock this evening and she'd already lost her keys and almost lost her housemate's keys as well, but they were just off to the pub, so, aside from the fact that she forgot to take any of her straighteners with her (I think she has 3 pairs...), I think she's going to be ok :-) :-)
