So I experienced the first car crash of my life on Thursday, which hopefully will be my last one, or at least for a very long time! Im fine, but unfortunately cant say the same for my car. Thankfully, apparently Jeeps are very well made because even though I was hit both in the front and back, it only sustained superficial damage and the interior framework looked to be in good condition.
The story goes that I was at a red light at the corner where I turn to head home, literally TWO minutes away from my house, and this older gentleman apparently fell asleep at the wheel, and rear ended me. I in turn rear ended this woman in front of me. And the only thing I could think of after realizing that I had gotten into an accident was that someone had crashed into Tati's car. I didnt give a shit about the details of what happened other than the last thing that Tati gave me before she passed away had gotten destroyed. I couldnt help but start bawling at that thought. That my grandfather and mother was going to be so angry with me.
So, the gentleman had gotten a ticket and this morning I got a call from my mother who spoke to the guy's insurance saying that since his car was apart of the recall list, they weren't claiming liability. Instead, now Im going to have to get my insurance to file a claim against Toyota, the maker of the guys car. Honestly, I dont care WHO pays, as long as it gets done and paid for. So we'll see what ends up happening with that.
