Yay for long weekends. Boo for the amount of work I'm going to have to get through in Tuesday to Friday.

We went shopping today to pick up a few bits and pieces. I bought new work shoes, a long-sleeved shirt and jeans set for Patrick, and Stuart bought a black hoodie. I also bought my mother's day present for me; a pair of jeans. Stuart and I aren't a gift-giving couple, so if we want a present, we buy it and say 'guess what you're giving me?'

I swear kiddie's clothing is so expensive and so...ugly. Why do people sell flanelette shirts for kids? Ooh, and at Target I saw pin-striped, lined jackets (you know, like those emo or whatever they are guys where) and pants in Patrick's size at Target. I laugh at the thought of someone being able to convince a 3 year old to wear that sort of get-up. Every year (except this year) we've bought Patrick a 'proper' winter jacket and he refuses to wear that. Instead, he'll wear a t-shirt, long-sleeved shirt and jumper, with jeans or trakkie daks to keep warm. We've given some nice, unworn, winter jackets away:/

Paddy's going with Grandpop and cousin Loren to a train and doll show tomorrow. I'm going to miss him.

Lol, and we were in the Early Learning Centre today and I bought a Magic Painting Set for Patrick for the bargain price of $5.00 He looked at me in the store and said 'I don't want that, I want a traaiiiin'. I replied that I was getting it, and it would give us some nice quiet time to sit down together.

'I don't like sitting down Mummy'

'Exactly,' I agreed. 'But now you will.'

My kiddie must have a secret speed supplier. He normally goes to bed at 10pm, we read, and then he's asleep by 10.30pm. He wakes up at 6.30/7am. He sleeps for an hour during the day except when I'm at home.

He does sit down sometimes. He'll paint - plaster of paris moulds and magnets, paper, colouring books - and draw and 'stamp', and sometimes he'll even watch TV, but the latter's hard to do with Paddy. Heh, this kid could crawl when he was only just five months old, but he didn't learn to sit unaided until 6.5 months. Priorities!
