So anyway, still at the same job. Currently working on a big project for February 15th, the official start of Barbie's 50th Birthday. All the creative I've been doing is so far enjoyable as it's well set out with a complete style guide from Mattel. I have a very good idea of the content and how I want it all produced.
It's fun working with high quality images and whatnot.
Today was finally a day where I didn't really get hammered over anything. Because a whole lot of pieces of the puzzle fell into place. A week ago we had a website issue with what looked like my dyslexia causing us to look stupid. Turns out our CMS was massively coded wrong and kept reverting dates to ones in the past. Which in turn allowed me to go live on things that wouldn't see the light of day. It crushed my personal faith in my ability and made me feel two pixels tall.
Getting my confidence back meant I could assist my boss in some pretty difficult reports for upper upper management in the U.S and to make progress on other projects that required a good eye for detail.
I'm still unhappy with the way he treats me, but now is not the climate to quit my job in a huff. If I can stick it out and produce better quality work, my resume will be even better for when things become safer to go switching companies.
