To quote my favourite character in my favourite song from my favourite musical... "Last night, I had a dream..." (Maureen in 'Over the Moon' from Rent.)
But instead of dreaming of cows and suicidal cartoon characters and Cyberland, I dreamt I was in a play, and that it was a very good play. And now I'm intrigued by this play, and I want to write it.
So mostly I don't remember what it was about - I know that I played a young woman (duh), that there was another distinguished older gentleman, a young rogue-ish sort of man, and two kids about 10-15 years old, brother and sister. I think the sister was sick, possibly dying, and there was definitely a mourning/wake type of scene, and that my character was very protective of the kids, although I don't think she was related to them. And there's one image I remember, and a line of dialogue, where the little girl holds up a drawing she's done of a staircase with lights on all the steps, and says "Is this how they caught the Jews?" wtf, I know, but we all know how screwed my subconscious is.
I also got the impression that it was all set on a boat - like an old style cargo ship, and the set was the ship's hold. I think the kids were possibly stowaways and I'm guessing the older man was the captain, but I'm not sure about my character.
So...ideas? Thoughts? Images? I'm seriously contemplating this for Treehouse next year, so any thoughts are welcome! (I'm looking at you, Anna and Dave.)
Oh, and Happy Easter!!
