But...they got to be together in Heaven. The darkness couldn't tear them apart. It's not the best ending...I'd like a better one...but they could still be together.

That is only to mask the fact they died before they could even wed each others in life.

I'm sure people would believe it happy, but there's nothing romantic about death.
