Not funny
So, Mal was reading Amitav's latest book (and yes, since he's a friend of Mal's family, I have started referring to him using only his first name...what an awkward habit!) and looked at me with a really sad face and said, "He's killing them off!" Now, I haven't read it yet (The Hungry Tide in case you were wondering), and I'm supposed to read this book next. I got all exasperated and was about to say something when he started laughing and said, "Sarah, I have 100 pages left. I'm kidding."
Not funny.
Also not funny (and partly why I've started referring to him as just Amitav, and not Amitav Ghosh) is that apparently Amitav met his wife at Mal's house. Yeah. Am I jealous? Of course! Stupid Mal, meeting cool people in C'ville. Apparently that's actually where it's at.
