I got in!
On the list of news that is good:
I got accepted into Leadership Lafayette!! And... MY EMPLOYER PAID MY TUITION!! Yippeee!!!
It's a community program that is designed to help create a fun and easily networked environment for community members to become examples inside the Greater Lafayette Area. Or, from the website: "The Community Leadership Program curriculum combines the development of 21st century leadership capacities and skills with the exploration of community issues." I'm also supposed to learn about the intricacies of volunteering and how to roust concern about community affairs. ::blushes:: I'm actually looking forward to it. I've needed to feel like I can make a difference, and as this Dragga's home is her castle, it makes sense to start here.
It also means I'm gonna be BUSY this fall! Sessions start August 19th (we have an overnight retreat) and then it's every Tuesday from August to December.. I think it's 5:00-9:00. (Phew! I'm gonna be tired!)
Speaking of August.... sekrit to laurelwen... call me re: the trip? I'm still in.
