fun night at work!
haha work yesterday was friggen awesome...they decided to put the 2 "new girls"(me and lacie) on duty together...that was the biggest mistake ever...
we get there, and i clock in at 4:58, and she clocks in at 5:10...so she was late, cuz we were supposed to be there at 5...well, she looks at me and says "i hate to do this to you, but i was out partyin last night, and i havent been to bed, and im exhausted...so youll have to pull most of the weight..." i was like ok, what you do the night before you go to work should NOT have an effect on how you perform your job, and walked away...well, she mostly stood at the counter with her arms folded across her chest lookin stupid...or took smoke breaks...the waitresses were constantly askin me where she was, cuz i was gettin killed with bussin tables, seatin people, and drink orders...and she kept takin off...at one point, sandra thought she walked out...but she didnt, she was outside smokin, so francis(the owner) practically dragged her back in...
well, 3 tables of people were seated by lacie, and their drink orders were either taken and not filled, or not taken at all...and she didnt tell the waitresses that they were there, so they got up to walk out...we ended up having to give them their meals for 50% off, and i ended up waitin 2 of the tables(there was 2 at one, 3 at the other) while sandra waited the one with 6 people...so, i waited the tables, got their drink orders and whatever...then i got slammed with 5 milkshakes, and we only have 3 milkshake prongs...so yeah, that took a while...anyways, francis came to yell at me about the people who were forgotten, and i politely stopped her and told her that id been bussin tables to make sure we had tables to seat them at, and helpin the waitresses pre-buss their tables, and i hadnt been seating people for about 20 minutes...she demanded lacie, and we couldnt find her...francis ended up cuttin her at 8:15, and left me to close...
well, after francis cut lacie, she comes back to the kitchen, cuz i was takin 3 buss tubs back there, and i turn around, and shes all smiles and im like yes? and shes like "i just cut lacie...youre here all by yourself..." i was like thats fine, cuz i was pretty much here by myself all night anyways, and she goes "i know, and when the last customers leave, i have to talk to you..." i was like ok, and went back to seatin people, makin desserts, and bussin tables...
at 9:30 the last table of people came in, and i had all the tables bussed...so i walked over to francis, and i was like "i hate to do this, but i havent had a break since ive been here, so can i have a couple seconds to get a drink?" and she was like "OMG! YOU HAVENT HAD A BREAK?!" and i was like no...and she goes "wouldnt lacie cover you so you could have one?" and i was like uhhh, she wouldnta done anything anyways...i figured i would keep business goin, and just skip my break...and she was like "oh god girl! go get your drink! sit down for a few! you been workin your butt off!" and i was like thank you...so i went and got a drink, and sandra stopped me...she asked what lacie had said to me, and i told her what lacie said about what she did last night, and me having to cover for her...well, she told francis, and francis called me back out...and we stood there talkin about how lacie was mouthin off to everyone, and everything, and she was NOT happy...
dawn, and sandra told me i did an amazing job, and thanked me...francis told me that i did good, and that she was NOT happy that i had a shadow...she said it wasnt gonna fly, and lacie is gonna be talked to today...so, im pretty sure shes gonna get fired...which is AWESOME! lol
sandra tipped me...she gave me $5 of her tips for helpin her wait, pre-buss tables, bussin her tables, makin all her desserts, and keepin up on things while lacie was standin around...so, me and sandra are gettin along really well now, and i getta work with her again tonight...i think im the only hostess on duty now though, cuz i think i was supposed to work with lacie tonight...but yeah, when i was leaving, francis goes "thank you laura! ill see you tomorrow evening...have a good rest of the night!" lol it was good...
then i had my mom take me to steak 'n shake, and i got dinner off my earned tips:-p lol and i got to see sarah, and mary, and ryan...but i dont like ryan a whole lot, so mostly i was just excited about my lones sisters...then i came home, crashed around midnight, and slept til 12:30...now, i gotta go, cuz i gotta be at work in 3 hours, and 24 minutes...late!
