I'm listening to my step dad and mother talk. It's none of my business, I know. But I can't help it. My mother and step dad have been separated for about a year. And my step dad has still been around, Helping my brother do homework, goin' out with the family to dinner, and what not about once a week or so ( Read more... )

that sounds like a question right out of my own life. why do we continue to love the very people that continue to hurt us immensely? Thats a question that I wish i knew the answer to, not only for my sake, but for yours.

I heard once that the reason women stay with the men that beat them is because its a survival instinct. Something about having offspring that will grow up to be strong and independant...or something...

I'm not sure that applies to us...but its still an interesting thought, nonetheless.

The question you should keep in mind is NOT whether or not the person is worth the pain, becuase most likely, your love for them will push you to believe that they are more than worth it...because you see the good in them that other people might not see. The question you SHOULD keep in mind is whether or not the realationship is worth the pain.

Past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior. People don't change overnight. Feelings don't change overnight, either.

I really don't know exactly what I want to say...except that...I really do know what you're going through, in more ways than one, and I can only hope that you'll remember that fact if you ever need someone to talk to. I hope you know that I'm here...always...
